Ice adverts

Since developing the research for the Bacardi brief... and developing ideas, I have come up with the idea of the catch phrase... 'Bacardi Flirt: The Perfect Ice Breaker.' Since deciding on this, I researched in to existing adverts that use the theme of ice.

The above image is an example of guerilla advertising, an area that really interests me. It is a new and inventive way, instead of using the standard ad shell, here, this beer brand have thought of the box, and produced a see-through block of ice to promote the new brand of beer Jupiler Blue.

This is a print based advert for a jar company, with the catch phrase, 'its not the best you can do. Conserve Simply.' I feel its a simple and effective way of portraying the idea that this jar keeps food as fresh as if it was in an ice cube in the fridge. Again an advert that is portraying a clever out of the box idea. A simple and boring product, using clever advertising to gain the audiences attention.

The ice cube has nothing to do with the product that is being sold here, but a paper based advert campaign for Olympus cameras use the block of ice to portray a message. They are suggesting that this camera can capture any scene of your life when you go out, so you can remember it for ever, just like the scenes that have been captured within the ice cube.

The two adverts above have given me the idea of using promotional material, that is not the standard flyer, but thinking of new and exciting ideas that makes potential consumers think WOW! The idea of the ice trays is perfect for my Bacardi campaign. Using the Bacardi logo shaped ice cubes within the tray, so the customer can make their on, as well as the Bacardi shaped ice cubes being involved in the adverts as well. Making the potential consumer feel part of the campaign.

Here these two adverts are using ice cubes to portray a hard hitting message. The one on the left has a person lying dead amongst ice cubes, at the bottom of the glass, portraying the message of that almost half of adult drowning deaths are caused by alcohol. The one on the right is an advert for a sperm bank company, so they are using the ice cube tray, to suggest that they freeze your sperm, like the frozen ice cubes with the babies in them, and like the melted one with the baby released, that is just like what happens when they release the sperm in to the woman, the baby is born. It is a clever way of portraying a simple idea.
